What Is Amoxycillin And Potassium Clavulanate?
Amoxycillin is a combination of penicillin type of antibiotic which is used for the treatment of various infections caused by bacteria by regulating the growth of bacteria. Clavulanate potassium in combination helps to prevent certain bacteria which become resistant to amoxicillin. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin.
How Does It Work?
It works by eliminating the bacteria and destroys its cell wall. As a standalone drug, Clavulanate Potassium doesn’t have a powerful antibacterial activity but when it is used in combination with Amoxycillin it increases the spectrum so that it is used to prevent organisms from producing beta-lactam.
