Clavulanate potassium in combination helps to prevent certain bacteria which become resistant to amoxicillin. Amoxicillin Potassium Clavulanate is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin.
How Amoxycillin Potassium Clavulanate Works (Amoxy Clav Dry Syrup)?
Amoxicillin works by eliminating the bacteria and destroys its cell wall. As a standalone drug, Clavulanate Potassium doesn’t have a powerful antibacterial activity but when it is used in combination with Amoxycillin it increases the spectrum so that it is used to prevent organisms from producing beta-lactams.
